WHAT ARE INVASIVE FOREST PESTS?
Invasive forest pests are introduced animals, plants and diseases that cause economic and/or environmental harm to our forests and trees. Forest pests can be small and can go undetected in firewood and other untreated wood. Transporting untreated wood products to new
areas can cause pests to rapidly spread and damoge our forests.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PROTECT OUR FORESTS & TREES FROM FOREST PESTS?
- Buy firewood at or near where you will use it. Leave any unused firewood on site.
- If you brought any non-Iocal firewood with you, use first and burn completely. Next time only use local firewood.
- Report infested firewood and invasive pests.
